Maurice White Tribute mix

Last week, Maurice White, founder of and musical visionary behind of Earth, Wind & Fire passed away at the age of 74. This is my personal tribute to him, which I hope you will enjoy.

It features one or more of my favourite tracks from every EWF album upto the early eighties and concludes with two of Maurice White's finest mid-tempo, life-affirming songs, which he was a master of crafting and which are a most fitting way to bid farewell to the man himself.

The mix is sprinkled with excerpts of Maurice White speaking about music and the band from the EWF documentary, Shining Stars. Here's to the man who, probably more than anyone, believed in the power of music, and had the talent and will to exercise that power such that it enriched so many people's lives.
